Five deeply striated Number Eight turquoise gemstones define this spectacular butterfly bolo tie crafted by Navajo silversmith Roland Dixson. With scalloped sterling silver accents, antennae, and two additional round Sleeping Beauty turquoise stones for eyes, this astounding piece will certainly turn heads at your next function.

Located in Eureka County, Nevada, the Number Eight Turquoise Mine was first mined in 1929. Turquoise is no longer collected there, as efforts have been redirected to the mine’s gold deposits. An easily identifiable stone, darker shades of Number Eight turquoise are considered the most valuable.

Coveted for its pristine sky-blue shade devoid of veining or web patterns, Sleeping Beauty turquoise holds a cherished place in the realm of sought-after gemstones. Its historical significance has left an indelible mark on the turquoise narrative, especially since the closure of the Arizona Turquoise Mine in 2012. The mine closure, coupled with the gem's innate allure, has led to a surge in its value. With its pure hue and inherent durability, Sleeping Beauty turquoise stands as a beloved choice among global jewelry artisans and creatives.
